Video games of the 90s were torture Driven by a wider audience thanks to an ever more diverse offering and the possibility of playing anywhere and anytime with smartphones, new forms of players have emerged over the years. “Hardcore gamers” and “casual gamers” therefore coexist in our era where we can clearly state that there are games for everyone. But not so long ago, the average difficulty of games was much higher, for several reasons that we will see together. The lifespan of games What we call in the industry “the lifespan” of a game is the time it takes to see the end of it. If today most of the big games that we call “triple A” and which correspond to cinema blockbusters (to simplify) offer a fairly substantial lifespan (open world games), this has not always been Standard. Already for an obvious reason of available space on cartridges and CDs: the games were much shorter (apart from a few larger RPGs like Final Fantasy and their 4 CDs). But if the adventure was shorter...
Anime Characters With the Exact Same Powers Pikachu and Zatch Bell - Electrical
Demons While people fight over whether ice or fire abilities are best, those
with electrical-based techniques get to sit at the side knowing what's really
up. Electrical based attacks are some of anime's most destructive, flashy, and
versatile; and in this entry, they only get better with small, cute hosts.
Pikachu is the small, electrical mouse from PokΓ©mon whose most famous move is
"Thunderbolt" among its variety of other shocking attacks. In the anime version
of TheHunger Games, Zatch Bell is a mamodo whose spellbook also allows him to
summon a variety of thunder and lightning-based attacks. As a bonus, both have a
slight tendency to shock their masters, because why not? Koyomi Araragi and
Undead Ban - Immortal Best Boys Tragic circumstance within magical worlds in
anime sometimes has the added potential of gifting the kindest people with great
immortality, whether they want it or not. This is the case for the Monogatari
Series' Koyomi Araragi, whose relationship with the vampire Shinobu allows him
to be part vampire, whereas Ban from The Seven Deadly Sins would gain his
immortal soul from much more tragic events surrounding the destruction of the
Fountain of Youth. Both cases result in their immortal bodies, an ability that
manifests in horrific scenes of action and violence that only serves to show
these two to shrug off their wounds Toshiro Hitsuguya and Esdeath - Ice
Abilities At the other end of the thermometer, tons of anime include ice
abilities. This typically means a tendency to summon freezing temperatures,
manifesting shapes via freezing, or just the exclusive telekinetic use of ice.
Two of anime's biggest Elsa ripoffs include Bleach's own Toshiro Hitsuguya, a
Soul Reaper whose Zanpakuto whose spiritual power manifests ice, and Akame ga
Kill's Esdeath, a general who gained the ability to manipulate ice by drinking
the blood of a beast. Both have the added benefit within their respective worlds
of being able to use their ice abilities without the presence of water. Chrollo
Lucifer and All for One - Power Stealing The ability to steal powers from others
is a major theme across anime. Taking advantage of others' abilities by taking
them for your own is just classic anime villain 101. Whether that means copying
abilities a la Naruto's Sharingan or outright stealing them like One Piece's
Blackbeard, the ability to essentially have every ability is quite a useful one.
Such an advantage is clearly exemplified between the major villains of Hunter x
Hunter and My Hero Academia. Chrollo Lucifer is the leader of the Phantom Troupe
whose little black book keeps carries all the stolen abilities of robbed Nen
users, whereas All for One is Shigaraki's predecessor and a man capable of
taking and dispersing Quirks at will. Natsu Dragneel and Shinra Kusakabe -
Fighting Fire with More Fire If there was ever a super power to define the
coolest character in any piece of fiction, that power would ironically be
pyromancy and the general tendency to summon and command flame. Such a trait is
shared between the Shone protagonists of Fairy Tail and Fire Force. Fairy
Tale'sNatsu is a Dragon Slayer whose mage training involved a mastery over fire
magic. Shinra on the other hand is a Fire Soldier bearing the abilities of a
pyrokinetic, often using flame powers in conjunction with melee attacks. Saiki
Kusuo and Mob - Psychic Prodigies Maintaining a normal high school life can be
pretty hard when one is gifted with an incredible acumen for psychic abilities.
This is the case for the pink, haired stoic Saiki Kusuo and the shy and timid
Shigeo Kageyama, aka Mob. Both use godlike psychic abilities to interact with
their world, whether that means helping their family and friends or even just
doing the mundane. Mob in particular, consistently uses his powers to fight off
spiritual threats, but Saiki's wide range of overpowered psychic abilities
suggests that he could also just as easily do the same.
